In 1975, 12 years old, Eddie Chacon and 2 neighborhood buddies started a band called Fly By Night, until a typo on their first gig poster changed their name to Fry By Night. They decided that band name was cooler and fateful, and stuck with it. His friends were Cliff Burton (Metallica) and Mike Bordin (Faith No More).

 

Eddie Chacon later made a world hit, 'Would I Lie To You?' with the duo Charles & Eddie, reaching nr 1 in UK for 2 weeks in 1992, also nr. 1 in New Zealand, Austria and Germany. The single became a Top 20 hit in the USA:
